ROCK’S UNREASONING, PART THREE


Once again, Rock lays in the dust, again defeated by Bass, who is now tormenting one of the most important people in his life-his robot-sister, Roll.  He lies flat on his back, and hears a siren before he fades away out of consciousness…

A van drives up and a large portly man gets out of the driver’s side-it’s Dr. Light, and he came in time to help Megaman, despite that Rock decided to go alone, Doc knew he’d not go far without a form of back-up energy, which has always been something Mega’s needed whenever he fought Bass…this was his archenemy, strong as he was, he still could not beat Megaman for he did not have the emotional strength to do it.  Doc walks up to Megaman, who begins to fade in and out of being his heroic image, almost changing back to Rock.

Doc kneels down and tries to make him drink an E-can.

Doc: Megaman, wake up, you need energy…WAKE UP!

Megaman begins to open his eyes, and then he opens them wide and remembers what just happened…he jumps to his feet and looks at Doc.

Megaman: DOC! You’re here? I told you not to follow me…

Doc looks at him and gives a serious tone.

Doc: You were unconscious…if I didn’t come, who would save you…

Megaman swings his arm in front of Doc.

Megaman: ..BUT THIS IS MY FAULT!! I wanted to prove to her that she was worth every bit of energy I had, and that I didn’t need any more than that!

Doc: But she already knows you’re worthy…you didn’t have a mother, so I gave you sister instead so that you had more than just myself as a family…

Megaman’s face drops and his fist clenches to his chest.

Megaman: AND YOU…DIDN’T…TELL THIS TO ME…BEFORE…

Doc:  I…

Megaman looks at him angrily.

Megaman: You…what?

Doc: I…I’m sorry. I didn’t think you’d be this angry… *backs away *

Megaman: There’s no time for arguments though…Roll needs my help.

Megaman turns his back and starts to walk away, and then turns around to say something else before leaving.

Megaman: We can talk about this later.

Megaman bows his head.

Megaman: And I promise not to be angry about it…

Megaman leaps and bounds through the junkyard…to an unsuspecting Bass. He sees Bass and jumps right at him, knocking Bass clear to the other side of the compactor…

Bass: UNNNGHHH!! YOU’RE GONNA PAY FOR THAT!!

Megaman gets up and stands stanced, ready to fight.

Megaman: That’s right, now I remember….I OWE YOU!!

Bass: Heh! Just how will you put yourself…. *points at Roll * out of her debt?

Megaman stands there with a disappointed look on his face.

Bass: How will you pay to get her back home…

Megaman clenches his fist and grinds his teeth.

Megaman: I’LL CHARGE!!

Megaman had charged his arm cannon behind his back and swung it to Bass’ attention at the last second out of surprise.  Bass is knocked clean off of his feet, but not defeated. He gets up, holding onto his shoulder while walking closer and closer to Megaman and Roll.  

Bass: Ouch that tickles… I can still defeat you…

Megaman turns to Roll. Roll nods at him, knowing what he wants… Megaman touches her arm and absorbs her abilities from it…  As Bass moves within inches, Mega finally figures which one of the abilities from Roll’s Household abilities to use on him…

Bass: Finally within range, and I can still use my bassnium blast to finish you off!! PREPARE TO DIE!!!

Roll: NOW MEGA!!!!

Megaman converts Roll’s power into…

Roll: Just what are you going to do with THAT?

Megaman: I’m gonna beat him with it, just watch…

Bass makes his move, and Megaman counterattacks…and Bass is beaten….LITERALLY.

Bass jumps out and looks down upon Megaman in the compactor.  I can’t believe you beat me…BEAT ME! WITH WITH…A WIRE WISK?!?  GRRRR!!!

Bass is humiliated, so he wants to make one last attempt to destroy his enemy…

Bass: WE’RE NOT DONE YET, BLUE DWEEBAZOID!!!  

Megaman and Roll look at him in question as Bass makes his way to the controls of the compactor.  He turns it on and makes his exit…

Bass: SO LONG, LOSERS!!! OR SHOULD I SAY….JUNK PILES….

Roll looks at Megaman in panic as he tries to free her out of the steel that she’s imprisoned in. As the walls move closer and closer, Mega awaits for his power to fade…

Roll: C’’MON MEGA!!

Megaman: Grr!! If I can’t have my power, I’ll have to find something….wait! I know…

Megaman remembers seeing some barrels of oil sitting around, and he jumps up to get one. He brings it back, and Roll has a look of disgust on her face.

Roll: OHHHH NO!! YOU ARE NOT SERIOUS!!

Megaman: Oh yes….I AM.

Megaman dumps the oil on Roll. He tosses the barrel aside and then comes  down to free her. The walls are moving within a few feet and he struggles to get Roll to freedom. Roll moves as he tries to remove her, and soon she is able to slip out from the vise. Megaman throws her up out of the chasm of the compactor and then uses the enclosed walls, now narrow to escape, to foot his way upward and out. He jumps up on his last footing and lands like a cat near Roll.

Roll smacks him on the cheek…

Roll: Geez, Rock, you couldn’t find another way to free me…

Megaman rubs his head.

Megaman: Maybe next time I’ll think about using a bread slicer instead….

He and Roll look at each other, and Roll snubs at him. Mega is a bit surprised but not much, and he kneels down in front of her.

Megaman: Roll, I do whatever it takes to rescue everyone…for you, I would do more than that….

Roll: Why is that?

Megaman looks at her, then frowns.

Megaman: BECAUSE…you’ve looked after me and I’ve failed to notice that sometimes…

Megaman walks off into the distance a bit.  

Megaman: But seriously, do you really have to mother me?]

Roll runs up and hugs him, and slips. Megaman takes her by the hands and lifts her up.

Roll: SERIOUSLY. Because no one else is there to do it….

Doc is in the distance watching them being brother and sister, grinning at the site of them getting along so well.
